She was being teased and unfortunately it was really starting to effect the way she saw herself. She could not stop smiling during her postoperative visits and we couldn't stop smiling right back at her! She walks more upright, makes eye contact, smiles for photos- we love this job! This patient came to us for an earlobe reduction. Whether from aging, genetics, or heavy earrings over the years, stretched or elongated earlobes can distract from the natural beauty of the face and make wearing earrings less fun.
This procedure was done in clinic under local anesthesia. There is minimal downtime and the recovery is typically a breeze. Sutures placed during the procedure are removed the following week, pain is controlled with Tylenol or Aleve, and patients can return to work the following day (if they are okay having sutures in at work!)
