Discover the Next Generation of Breast Implants
At Evergreen Plastic Surgery in Vancouver, WA, we are proud to offer Motiva® breast implants—an innovative solution designed for women seeking natural-looking results, enhanced safety, and a personalized augmentation experience. Whether you're a mother restoring your pre-pregnancy body, someone addressing asymmetry, or simply looking to enhance your confidence, Motiva® implants provide a modern approach to breast augmentation.

Two Types of Motiva® Implants
The two types of implants offered by Motiva® are their SmoothSilk® Round and SmoothSilk® Ergonomix®. They are both feature the SmoothSilk®surface, a unique surface designed for enhanced biocompatibility, to improve the body’s response to your implants. Compared to other implants*, the SmoothSilk® surface was scientifically shown to have the least amount of inflammation and low bacterial attachment helping the tissue around the implant to stay soft. Motiva implants have a 0.5% capsular contracture rates (when the scar tissue surrounding the implant tightens or hardens) and there have been no reported primary device-related incidence of BIA-ALCL. The two designs provide unique benefits for breast augmentation for different aesthetic goals and body types.

Provides increased upper pole fullness and softness. The shape of the implant keeps its round, full form regardless of whether you’re standing up or lying down.

Why Choose Motiva® Implants?
1. Natural Look and Feel
Motiva® implants are engineered to mimic the natural movement and softness of real breast tissue. The ProgressiveGel® technology allows the implants to adapt to your body's movements, providing a teardrop shape when standing and a fuller appearance when lying down.
2. Improved Biocompatibility
Safety is paramount with Motiva®. The SmoothSilk®/SilkSurface® technology promotes healthy tissue integration and reduces the risk of complications like capsular contracture. The founders of Motiva® did extensive research to determine the ideal surface to use for their implants to reduce a reaction from your body. We have 14 year daya on Motiva® implants, because they have been used outside of the United States for 14+years. The 14 year data corroborates with the 5 year FDA augmentation studies. There has been a <1% capsular contracture rate, <1% rupture rate and ZERO primary cases of ALCL, SCC, and B-cell lymphoma worldwide.
3. Enhanced Safety Features
BluSeal® indicator ensures the integrity of the implant during surgery. This barrier layer is mandatory for all breast implant devices to reduce patient exposure to gel. The difference is Motiva uses BluSeal® indicator to verify that the implant is completely covered and no surface area is left uncovered.
4. Customizable Options
Motiva® offers a range of implant shapes and sizes to suit your unique body type and aesthetic goals. Whether you prefer the Round or Ergonomix® design, we will work with you to select the best option for your desired outcome.
Who is the ideal candidate for a breast augmentation?
Ideal candidates are individuals who are in good overall health and are bothered by the appearance of their breasts. Often due to genetics, aging, pregnancy, or significant weight loss the breasts aren't as full or perky as some would like.

What should I expect with breast augmentation?
If you're considering breast augmentation in the Vancouver, WA, or Portland, OR, area, with Motiva® implants, it’s helpful to know exactly what the process looks like—start to finish. I always walk my patients through every step during their consultation, but here’s a general overview of what to expect. Motiva® breast implants offer an innovative option that combines advanced technology with natural aesthetics. At Evergreen Plastic Surgery, we specialize in providing personalized care to help you achieve your desired look with confidence.
The Surgery
The procedure typically takes about 1 to 2 hours and is done under general anesthesia or sedation, so you’ll be comfortable the entire time. I make a small incision—usually in the natural fold under the breast (called the inframammary fold).. From there, I carefully place the implant either in front of or behind the chest muscle, depending on your anatomy and the look you’re going for. Once the implant is in position, I close the incision with sutures and apply dressings and a supportive bra or compression garment, which you’ll wear for about six weeks while your body heals.
Why Placement In Front of the Muscle Can Be a Game-Changer
One of the things that makes Motiva® implants special is that they’re often an excellent choice for placement in front of the chest muscle (also known as subglandular or subfascial placement). This can offer a range of benefits:
-
A more natural look and movement, especially when you’re active
-
Less post-op discomfort and a quicker recovery for many women
-
Ideal for those with less natural breast tissue, without the risk of looking overly “done”
-
Future procedures (if needed) tend to be simpler
-
Breastfeeding is still possible, as the implant doesn’t interfere with the milk ducts
It also opens the door to larger implant sizes for women who want more volume, without as much restriction from the underlying muscle.
That said, every body is different. Some women may still benefit from placing the implant beneath the muscle for the most natural result or to reduce certain risks. During your consultation, I’ll evaluate your anatomy and talk with you about your goals to decide on the best plan together.
Recovery & Aftercare
After surgery, expect some swelling, bruising, and tenderness—that’s completely normal. Most women take it easy for the first few days, and many are back to light activities within a week or so. I’ll give you detailed aftercare instructions, including:
-
How to care for your incisions
-
Which medications to take (and when)
-
When to wear your surgical bra
-
What to avoid (like heavy lifting and intense workouts) during early recovery
We’ll also schedule a few follow-up appointments to monitor your healing, remove sutures if needed, and make sure everything is progressing smoothly. These visits are a great time to ask questions, celebrate your results, and check in on how you’re feeling overall.
A Smoother, More Confident You
Motiva® implants are truly one of the most exciting advancements in breast augmentation today. With the right surgical plan, thoughtful aftercare, and a board-certified plastic surgeon guiding the process, you can expect beautiful, natural-looking results that enhance—not change—who you are.

solutions that fit your budget.

Are there medications I cannot take prior to surgery?
Prior to undergoing surgery patients cannot take any medications that thin their blood for two weeks prior to surgery. In general any over the counter pain medications (ex. Ibuprofen, Aleve, aspirin, naproxen) cannot be taken for the two weeks prior to surgery. If you need an over the counter pain medication during that time, Tylenol is okay to take prior to surgery. Other supplements including Vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, garlic, ginseng, ephedra, St. John's wort, Kava, flax seed oil, and fish oil.
Why does Dr. Impastato need me to stop using nicotine for two months prior to surgery?
As a board certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Kate Impastato's main goal is to keep you safe while helping you to achieve your goals. Nicotine in any form (cigarettes, patch, gum, or vape) can increase the risks of having problems after surgery that can effect your outcome and even be life threatening.
-
Decreased Blood Flow leads to Increased Risk For Complication: Nicotine causes blood vessels to constrict or narrow, leading to a reduction in blood flow. Proper blood flow is crucial for the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to tissues, especially during the healing process after surgery. Restricted blood flow can compromise the body's ability to heal and recover. Insufficient blood supply to the surgical site can delay the healing process, leading to prolonged recovery times and potential complications including infections
-
Higher Risk of Tissue Necrosis: Nicotine's impact on blood vessels can potentially lead to tissue necrosis, where a lack of blood supply causes tissue cells to die. This is a serious complication that can result in the need for additional surgeries or interventions to address the damaged tissue.
-
Increased Risk of Blood Clots: Nicotine use is associated with an increased risk of blood clot formation. Blood clots can pose a serious threat, especially in the postoperative period, as they may lead to complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism.
